Groomed toenails for the summer are critical for women. We love to wear cute little sandals with cute little shorts, and our feet have to look just as stunning as our hair and our makeup! No one wants to see overgrown, yellow toenails in cute strappy sandals.
Strain on the wrist can result in pain and discomfort. An ergonomic pedicure file uses abrasive action to remove dead skin from the bottoms of your feet without placing any strain on your wrist. If you don't have access to an ergonomic pedicure file, you can use a pumice stone to get similar results.
Next you need to turn your attention towards the clipping of your toenails. Clean under nail tips and clip, be sure to file splits and rough edges to give them a neater look. Moisturize your feet to soften them, this helps in handling dryness and minimizes roughness of hard skin.
Apply cuticle cream on your cuticles and use an orange stick to gently push them back. After you push the cuticles back, angle the orange stick and move it in a slow circular motion to remove the dead cuticles. Wipe the excess cuticle cream away with a warm washcloth.
Filing - Use a good nail file to shape the nails, stay away from metal ones which normally rip the nails and are very harsh on them instead use an emery board. The courser side is for shortening and the smoother side is for shaping then. You ideally want a soft square shape.
A standard manicure would usually include filing and shaping of the nails and the application of polish. French manicure is the latest and popular method in the nail fashion. A similar treatment performed on the feet is a pedicure. A manicurist can also apply treatments to real nails, such as painting pictures or designs on the nails or applying imitation jewels.
To remove any oily residue, swipe nails with nail antiseptic. Prime nails for polish with a base coat. To apply, place your foot flat on a level surface and spread your toes out - if your toes are particularly bunched, separate them with cotton balls. Paint a thin coat of base coat on each toenail. Those who prefer a natural look can end the pedicure here.
Dry your nails and apply a base coat of clear polish. After it's dry, apply your color polish of choice. If you're really feeling sleek, apply French tip white to the top of each nail for a French manicure. If you're feeling sophisticated, try a gorgeous navy. Or go for bright orange because you can. Apply a second coat if necessary. After it's dry, apply a top coat.
Take cotton balls as many as you need them, soak each finger well with nail polish remover, so that your fingernails true color start appearing. Use a very less quantity of nail polish remover to remove the nail polish. Since nail polish is extremely drying, never soak the nail in it, especially the cuticle. Keep the good contacts of your nails with the nail polish.
