Complete Care For Oily Skin

By ricky at 2011-02-24 01:24:54
Your skin care routine needs to be more specific. These will depend on your skin type, age, condition of your skin, skin ailments, etc. You can consult a dermatologist if you want to know what care you need to accept for your skin.

So how will you take over your complete skincare? Here is an idea. Wash your face daily. By daily I mean every freaking day! Don't slack off and take days off. Wash your face. Don't just use soap either, use special face soaps to get the job done. You have got to learn to keep your pores clean and unclogged. Also, watch what you eat. You cannot eat a bunch of junk and expect your skin to get better. You need to start adding natural fruits and vegetables to your diet as they have antioxidants in them. Also make sure you are going to drink water.

You only need to wash your face at most 3 times a day. Excessive cleansing of your face will strip your face of essential oils drying out your skin and irritating it. When showering limit showers to no more than 3 times a day. Also shorten the length of your showers because long hot showers strip the body also of essential oils.

Apple Cider Vinegar - Apple cider vinegar is known to act as an astringent, which helps keep the skin supple, by washing out pores and removes excess oil. Apple cider vinegar also wards off harmful bacteria, and restores the skins pH balance. Apply this on the skin using a cotton ball.

The primary aim of the oily skin care products and other techniques available is the elimination of oil or sebum from the body or skin. Also note that skin care treatments will not guarantee complete oil removal from the skin. To start improving use a good cleanser. Not any cleanser but one containing salicylic acid will do a lot of work for your skin. Cleanser based on salicylic acid will stop the production of sebum in the skin. It is very important for a person to clean their skin twice a day and even more during the humid and hot conditions.

Buy a container of oats, preferably old fashioned or steel cut, for this step. Mix it with enough water to make a thick paste and rub it on your skin. Rinse carefully afterwards. The oats in this have two functions; first, they provide a gentle exfoliate effect and second, the mucilage in them can provide a mild moisturizing effect.

Well, actually it does if you understand a little about how the skin works. You see, when too much activity occurs with the skin by either stripping away precious oils or over moisturizing, we upset the skin's natural balance and our sebaceous glans work harder to produce more sebum to compensate for what it interprets as a lack of moisture.

Most commonly, teenagers are most likely to be affected by oiliness of the skin a however, hormonal changes, such as pregnancy, puberty, menstrual cycles etc., can affect the sebum secretions of the skin and result in oily skin. Although, generally with age the skin tends to become dryer, oily skin can still be a problem even during the middle stages of life, often referred to as 'middle age acne'. The up-side of oily skin is - it ages more slowly.
